IIT Delhi’s First Center in Abu Dhabi Inaugurated, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi has now made its presence felt at the international level as well. It was announced a long time ago that IIT Delhi’s centre will open in Abu Dhabi. The latest information in this regard is that IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi centre has been inaugurated. Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed has officially inaugurated the Abu Dhabi campus of IIT Delhi.

52 students took admission in the first batch

A total of 52 students have taken admission in the inaugural batch. All of them are students of the first batch of undergraduate degree course. This B.Tech degree will be taken in the subjects of Computer Science and Engineering as well as Energy Engineering.

How is the selection done

These candidates have been selected through the JEE Advanced exam as well as the newly established Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET) for international students. The special thing about this batch is that it has students from different countries. Some are from India, some from UAE and some from other countries. Overall, this group is made up of different foreign students.

A plan was made some time ago

In this regard, the Indian Embassy has given information through a press release. It contains information about the number of students and other important information. The idea of ​​setting up this campus was conceived by the Indian PM. Narendra Modi And UAE President Sheikh Mohammed Hin Zayal Al Nahyan took this decision during the vision document launched in February 2024. This campus is a mix of Indian, Emirati and other international students.

The program has already been launched

According to ANI report, before the start of this UG course, IIT Delhi had launched Masters of Technology i.e. MTech in Energy Transition and Sustainability in January 2024 in Abu Dhabi. This group also met the PM.

These institutions will get support

During the inauguration of IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi Centre, the institute also signed several important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). The main institutions among these are – Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), Khalifa University, Zayed University and Sorbonne University-Abu Dhabi.

With their help, efforts will be made to increase the academic excellence here and it will also help in research. Not only this, with the establishment of this center, relations between India and UAE will also be strengthened.
